There is certainly no dearth of jewellery shops in Toronto, but few have the charm of bluboho in Uptown Yonge, the second location of the Oakville-based boutique.
Walking into the store is like browsing an urban twentysomething woman’s Tumblog: stark white walls contrast with reclaimed wood displays, while a classic bicycle is stacked with suitcases and leans against some seriously retro wallpaper. The store inspires smartphone wielding shoppers to snap pictures and apply filters to share with friends.
The jewellery is very in-the-moment and unapologetically boho. Owners Cheryl and Maggie work with independent jewellers both local and international to find pieces that are often delicate but reflect the wearer’s life moments and discoveries. Finding must-haves means browsing through necklaces, pendants, rings, and bracelets, until the right piece shines through. A small selection of home and body accessories complete the sense of well-being.
The bluboho lifestyle is about living in the moment and sharing experiences, and the boutique offers myriads of ways to do just that.
